In the end I was able to update and Install some programs using -overwrite '*' with sudo pacman -Syu. And this just gave me more errors on running like File Exists on system, Skipping. I also tried running the command sudo /sbin/ldconfig -v, Don't remember Where I got these from. I am afraid this is the part that is the cause my troubles right now. I have tried Removing my local and remote db from /var/lib/pacman/sync and /var/lib/pacman/sync. But Running sudo pacman -S gvfs just returned these files and the errors again. One Arch Forum suggested that I removed these conflicting files and then run sudo pacman -SyuĪs I was trying to install gvfs and got these errors, I tried deleting every /usr/lib/\* files that were causing these error. Some Arch forum suggested to try running pacman -Qkk to verify the file integrity, running this got me a few warnings of I googled and found out I should find their owners with pacman -Qo filename and reinstall them, some of these didn't have any owners but I tried reinstalling those that did and These error were returned again. Ldconfig : /usr/lib/libbacktrace.a File is empty not checked Ldconfig : /usr/lib/libbd\_swap.so File is empty not checked I keep getting a long list of error like (60-70 of these line) I have been unable to update, or install anything on my system. So, I force rebooted it.īut after the reboot. I waited a few minutes for it to respond but it didn't. I couldn't even access another tty, but the screen was still on. My keyboard wasn't working, neither the mouse. Some context - This morning during an update, my laptop completely froze. Ok I've been trying to solve this for the whole day, would really like some help/guidance.
